The M2 is BMW M at its most compact: a short-wheelbase coupe with a turbocharged straight-six and pumped-up arches. The replica captures that muscular, planted stance.
At 37.2 cm long this is a large, statement-size model made to be the centrepiece of a shelf, sideboard or desk. Press the hidden button and a soft, water-based vapour drifts out exactly where it should — the closest a display model gets to coming alive. The body is cast in metal, so at around 2.0 kg it has real weight in the hand, and the paint is laid on in smooth, even coats with crisp fine details.
