The original Golf GTI in bright red, with a black stripe along the flanks, black wheel-arch trims and bumpers, silver steel-style wheels, a rear wiper and that crisp three-door hatch shape.
Launched in the mid-1970s, the first Golf GTI wrote the hot-hatch rulebook: light, practical and quick. Its sharp, folded-paper lines look just as good at this size.
At 37.3 cm long this is a large, statement-size model made to be the centrepiece of a shelf, sideboard or desk. Press the hidden button and a soft, water-based vapour drifts out exactly where it should — the closest a display model gets to coming alive. The body is cast in metal, so at around 2.0 kg it has real weight in the hand, and the paint is laid on in smooth, even coats with crisp fine details.
